Bula lives with her husband and daughter in Munj Ka Pura, a tiny village in Rajasthan, India. Bula and her husband work in the fields all day long earning a meager monthly income of Rs. 500 (US $10).

As the village does not have electricity, Bula must depend on oil lamps for light. Life was a constant struggle for Bula, as after her hard work in the fields, she had to return home before sunset to do the cooking.

Solar lantern makes life easier for Jagannath

Jagannath lives with his wife, Hariya, and brother, Kallu, in Munj Ka Pura. Munj Ka Pura is a remote village bordering the states of Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh in India.

Jagannath makes his living as a ragpicker. Everyday he walks to a nearby village to collect and sell rags, returning back late in the evening. As Munj Ka Pura does not have electricity or roads, traveling was very difficult for Jagannath.

With the generous donation of a solar lantern by Bradley, life became much easier for Jagannath. He uses the solar lantern to travel in the morning and night, allowing him to spend more time selling rags.  Thank you for your donation!

Pavithra is an old lady who has lived her entire life without electricity in Munj Ka Pura, a village in Rajasthan, India. The village does not have any roads, a hospital or a market. It has only one elementary school till the 5th grade. She lives with her husband, son, daughter-in-law and two grandchildren.

Their monthly income, like the rest of the families in this tiny village, is a meager Rs. 500 (US $10). Out of the Rs. 500, she spends Rs. 100 on kerosene to light up the oil lamps. Kandace, Pavithra is extremely delighted to have a solar lantern thanks to your generous donation.

In addition to being economical, the family does not have to spend time cleaning and filling the lamps, nor worry about it catching fire. Her grandchildren can even study at night now!

Heera works as a vegetable vendor in a village near Munj Ka Pura, where he lives with his family. Munj Ka Pura does not have electricity, the nearest hospital is 5 kms away, and there are no roads.

Earlier having a mobile phone was too expensive, as he had to travel to a nearby village and spend 5 rupees each time he had to charge it. Vikram lives with his wife, mother and three children Manoj, Kanchan and Kailash Bai in Munj Ka Pura a tiny village in Rajasthan, India. He runs a dairy farm and although his family is comparatively well off there was no light in his home. The village does not have any electricity, and their oil lamp gave just enough light, but also created fumes which filled up the room. Ballabh Bai is a widow with three girls, Rekha, Leela and Manju. They live in a remote village in Rajasthan, India called Munj-ka-Pura. She lost her husband when the children were very young. There was darkness all around in her life. She did not know how to bring up her children but being courageous she decided to work in the fields and bring them up.

There is no electricity in this tiny village and people depend on kerosene lamps for their light. The money she earned was not enough to light the oil lamps for many hours. Therefore she managed with very little. Solar Lantern lights up Ram’s Pots

Ram’s pots are famous in Munj Ka Pura a remote village bordering the states of Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh in India. Ram lives with his wife Pura, mother Ashiya and 3 children. Ram’s main source of income is pottery. But the amount they earn is meager and barely enough to take care of the entire household. Ram has to work in the fields to earn extra income to provide for his family.

As the village does not have any electricity Ram had to divide his time between pottery and farming but with the generous donation of a solar lantern from Kabir, Ram can make his pots during evenings after working in the fields thereby earning more income.
