Ranjan can save 100 rupees a month with her new solar lantern!

Ranjan Bai lives with her husband Anar Singh, brother-in-law Brijmohan, and their 2 year old son Neeraj Singh in a remote village in Rajasthan called Munj-ka-Pura. There is no electricity in this tiny village and people depend on kerosene lamps for their light. Both husband and wife work in the fields from morning till night and their monthly income is a meager Rs. 500 (US $10) out of which they spend around Rs. 100 for kerosene. With the generous donation of a solar lantern by Alexa, the family can now save Rs. 100 per month. In addition to being economical, the family does not have to spend time cleaning and filling the lamps, or worry about fire or health risks.
